2013. The year that a dabble into the world of photography became a love and, at times, an obsession. Slowly my work has taken shape as I seek to define my own style, meeting and working with the most wonderfully creative people along the way. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this year. Your lovely comments mean the world to me. In a world of creativity, one of the most difficult things is getting noticed but thanks to you lot, little by little I am getting there. This post is a selection of my favourite photographs from each shoot that I have done this year; from fields and leaf piles, to rooftops and city streets. Let's hope that 2014 is even better!

Sweet Cakes and Milkshakes
Wishing y'all a very Merry Christmas, hopefully one surrounded by family and friends, and lots of good food! These were taken as the sun was beginning its descent from the sky and my family had begun to snooze after a most lovely Christmas dinner.

Christmas Eve and All That Jazz
I went on a walk this morning avec mes parents and attempted to shoot some Lookbook photographs however, with the wind howling around me and billowing up my shirt, it just wasn't happening. Admire the location in monochrome though, and a 'Merry Christmas' to you if it is already that time of the year in your part of the world.
Credits to my dad for this photograph.

Blue Blood Blues
Vintage Oversized Denim Shirt (similar here) / Topshop Knitted Jumper (here) / M&S Autograph DIY Ripped Jeans (similar here) / Jones Patent Loafers (similar here)
Collared shirt, warm jumper and skinny jeans = standard weekend wear, bien sûr! The vintage camera came down from the loft, along with two vintage trench coats (which I shall be integrating into my wardrobe shortly). Also this shoot found its way onto Fashionising a few days ago, along with a lovely article written about it. Go have a gander if you please!

Gatsby? What Gatsby?
I had so much fun last night at my friend Dan's Great Gatsby themed birthday party (Dan's the one in the pink suit - in true Jay Gatsby style!). I had the pleasure of photographing people on their arrival - it was so great to see everyone getting in the spirit of things with their 20s style outfits. Here is a very small selection of the photographs that I took.

Marcus
Model: Marcus Hodson
Photographer / Stylist: Myself
Despite the incessant rain, I had a great time on this shoot with Marcus last week. In fact, the awful weather led us to seek out some rather cool indoor places (Empire Exchange and Afflecks Palace) to shoot at instead. I also got to play at being a stylist choosing clothes at Oxfam Originals and even managed to pick up a lovely vintage jacket for myself there too (Lookbook post coming soon).

Vintage Kilo Sale
So this morning I woke up bright and early, and set off for the Manchester Vintage Kilo Sale. The events are held all around the country and at £15 a kilo, there's plenty of bargains to be had! I managed to find myself a beautiful herringbone tweed jacket (photographs at the bottom of this post) and a cream dress which shall feature in an upcoming shoot.
I also attempted to do a little 'street' style photography whilst I was there. Without my DSLR getting that beautiful blurry background proved impossible but hey, I'm learning for next time!

Granary Square
These were taken by my lovely mother outside the Grain Store restaurant in London, where we went to try out their tasting menu, during our trip there earlier this week. I have a major love for the simplicity of shift dresses at the moment and this was a lucky find among the sale racks at Topshop; it's still full price online!

The Other Zara
It seems like half of my following list on Bloglovin' have ooh-ed and ahh-ed over the latest Zara campaign but, I ask, what about the basics? You know, those clothes that fit seamlessly into one's wardrobe that you can pull on without worrying about Can I really pull off a structured turtleneck or daytime nighty (in winter for goodness sake!)? Don't get me wrong, there's some very beautiful pieces in that campaign but let's not forget the essentials; they're what Zara does best.

Summer Staples
ASOS boyfriend jeans - I've been after a pair of boyfriend jeans for a while but so far the ones that I have found have never quite seemed to fit the bill. Until I came across these, that is! They're slouchy but not baggy, slim but not skinny and as I'm generally not a fan of pale denim, the dark shadow detail finishes them perfectly.

Noir et Blanc
The black and white trend is big right now but, unlike clashing prints and gaudy metallics, you'll never go wrong with a simple monochrome get-up. Here are my current favourites:
Topshop Playsuit / Topshop Boots / Monki Sunglasses / Asos Clutch / River Island Shorts / Zara Shirt / Jovonnista Dress

Easter On A Plate
Happy Easter everyone! Just a quick post in an attempt to capture the deliciousness that was my lunch today. Cooked by my mum; roasted shoulder of lamb (sourced from a farm three miles down the road) with gratin dauphinoise and greens. My dad made a most lovely apple and mincemeat pie for dessert, but unfortunately I didn't manage to get any photographs of it!

On My Radar
Over the last couple of months, I have come to realise that my current boots are no longer the smart brogues that they initially were. They have become worn and scuffed from being trampled across towns and muddy tracks. They still serve me perfectly well but it seems that I will require new ones if I am to look presentable in times that I need to look smart. So I have been doing a little browsing and these black beauties are currently on my radar. What do you think?
